2010: Cardinals Take the Super Bowl?
In 2009 the Arizona Cardinals, a team no one thought would see the playoffs let alone the Super Bowl, near won the title of Super Bowl Champions from the Pittsburgh Steelers. In the final weeks of the playoffs, the Cardinals played like a team that not only deserved to be in the Super Bowl, but to win it. However, the result was a four point loss that had little to do with a lack of ability from the Cardinals as a team, and more with a single error from veteran quarterback Kurt Warner. But as the season came to a close, NFL fans around the world had to admit that the Arizona Cardinals were for real. The Cardinal’s offense penetrated what was recognized as the best defense in the NFL, and their defense met Roethlisberger and stopped the Steelers from gaining momentum. While we’ll never know what would have happened had Kurt Warner not thrown that interception a mere toss from the goal line, had the Cardinal’s scored and the Steelers not intercepted, it might have been a much different picture at the end of the game. With Kurt Warner back for the new season, as well as Larry Fitzgerald, and the Cardinals near guaranteed a solid running back from the 2009 draft, this might be the year that the team goes all the way.
President Obama and Fans Looking Apposing Directions for Super Bowl Favorite
President Barack Obama said diplomatically that, “I have to say, you know, I wish the Cardinals the best,” yet he will be rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers when facing the “long-suffering” and “great Cinderella story” Cardinals.
“Other than the (Chicago) Bears,” Obama said, “the Steelers are probably the team that’s closest to my heart.” Yet not enough to keep him from adorning his custom Obama Steelers jersey going to show you that presidents can be fans too. I just hope he wont be placing public speaches and stopping to quench his thirst via his favorite sponsred drink.
While the heart of American pro football fans are looking the other direction and would like the Arizona Cardinals according to a Jan. 27-28 USA Today/Gallup poll.
With the Cardinals making their first appearance in the Super Bowl and the Steelers already five-time Super Bowl Champions the underdog is a likely explenation that corresponds with the onset of the 2009 year for Americans everywhere.
Boldin Shows Off His Mouth at Just the Right Time
When you team is driving towards the NFC championship it would not appear to be tie to vent frustrations that can arise between coach and player.
Anquan Boldin may have placed himself before his team in lashing out when he did and perhaps this decision may not be understood. A game watched by more then have ever been interested in the Arizona Cardinals before. For a team that could be the most improbable super bowl participant to date and in the midst of attaining the necessary win to do so.
The point has been made official News pointing out Boldin’s selfishness but hindsight is 20-20. Any player fighting for their spot deserves reasonable explanation right?
“I was not given any explanation why I was taken out,” Boldin told ESPN’s NFL Live. “Like any competitor I wanted to know why.”
NFC West Division Title Now out of Seahawks Reach
With Matt Hasselbeck and Deion Branch both back this Sundays game against the Arizona Cardinals had a glint of hope for the start of the turn around of the 2008 season.

Although they were down early the Seahawks made a fight back from their 19 point deficit with just a go ahead touch down to place them above the Cardinals for the first time all game. After making a comeback with 20 points scored all on Arizona turnovers the Seahawks seemed to have enough time to make a triumphant comeback. With two opportunities in the fourth quarter, one with 5:38 left in the game and the other at 2:05 but Matt Hasselbeck was unable to make anything transpire and threw an interception to end all hope for this game.
For the first half of the game Cardinals quarterback, Kurt Warner and his Boldin, Fitzgeraldreceiver receiver combination seemed unstoppable for the Seahawks seconfary. The Seahawks were able to capitalize on a couple key plays to get back into the game including a Wilson interception which led to the start of their comeback. Overall Hasselbeck gained his composure after his first half back from injuries and should Seattle be able to establish a running game things could pick up as the rest of the season unravels for this struggling team.
