Are the Bengals Ready for Ochocinco and Owens? Is Any City Big Enough for Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens, or even the NFL for that matter?

With these two names/egos competing for the spotlight in Cincinnati, there is sure to be entertainment galore!

Someone must have spiked the chili in Cincinnati with stupid juice, because suddenly, the concept of winning games and playing with dignity is about to be lost in the blur of these mad men trying to one-up each other.

It will be comical enough watching them demand the football, leaving one to pout when the other guy is getting more touches or the other to mope when he isn’t catching the winning touchdown pass. But if we’ve learned anything through the years from these hopeless attention hogs, it’s that they’re entertainers first who inevitably will vie to have the most Twitter followers, pull off the more discussed end-zone stunts and, frighteningly enough, attract the higher ratings in their back-to-back reality shows on VH1. Perpetuating Ochocinco's Social RevoltSo Chad Ochocinco has a suprise in recourse to the NFL’s ban on social networks during games. More importantly why is this a newsworthy topic?

“The Twitter world, they don’t need a signal,” he said Wednesday. “They’ll know. It’s the quiet before the storm. Just watch.”

Perhaps Ochocinco can be compensated for his contribution to the negative publicity stemming from his insistent twitter activity during NFL games.

Specifics of the social ban prohibit from the first 90 minutes before kickoff until after teh media interviews proceeding games. However Ochocinco trying to take credit some sort of ‘revolutionary’ idea thinks he has a way around this issue?

Ochocinco may just tweet anywayExpect a ruling in the near future with yet another ban courtesy of NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

“We already have a rule that prohibits the use of cell phones or other handheld devices in the bench area during games,” NFL spokesman Greg Aiello but apparently the current ban needs a slight update.

Goodell apparently feels that the on firld ban needs to be as specific a possible.

It is unclear as to what exactly a infringement on this ban would mean for players, but some players such as Cincinnati Bengals own problem child, Ocho Cinco, may certainly be willing to push the issue. Last year Jim Mora, formerly of the Atlanta Falcons found himself slapped with a $25 thousand for using his cellphone on the sidelines.

Ochocinco Doesn’t Do Modest

Ochocinco Doesn’t Do ModestBengals Chad Johnson somehow convinced the NFL to agree to allow the player to wear his nickname on the back of his NFL jersey this season. However this was not enough for the player as he now has it exactly as he wanted it printed on his jersey – Ochocinco as apposed to the former Ocho Cinco.

The payer took the nickname as far as ledally changing his name back in Aug. and asked the league and media to call him Chad Ocho Cinco stemming from his number 85 jersey.

The correction comes from the way his name was written during the legal name change Ochocinco.

Perhaps this will catapult the NFL into even more of a mockery with nicknames of all sorts plastering the league into a mockery style media show.

Houshmandzadeh is Decidedly a Seahawk

Seattle Seahawks sign HoushmandzadehT.J. Houshmandzadeh made a final decision to sign with the Seattle Seahawks and heads west after a tough decision. “I just felt it was the best destination, it was the best team, it was the best choice for me”.

Reportedly the deal is worth more than $40 million for 5 years, $15 million of which is guaranteed. A number of factors obviously went into his decision between the three teams gunning for his talent. Quarterback Carson Palmer from his then current team the Cincinnati Bengals, the Minnesota Vikings and the team in which he finally decided on Seattle. One can only imagine that the opportunity for him on any one of those teams was a predominent aspect of his decision including the teams’ chances of winning.

Now a prize catch by the eager talons of the Seattle Seahawks they seem to be just one more step towards a solid lineup with receiver Houshmandzadeh and still holding a number four draft pick that hopeful fans are already beginning to chatter about.

Narc Unruly Football Fans Via Text

Unruly football fansHave an issue with unruly fans? text a stadium has a solution to this ongoing problem. Or is it a solution? As pointed out by Chris Chase’s Tattletales article this seems to be more of a way to create the idea of a solution to the issue and less about taking actual steps that may prevent rude behavior like curbing alcohol sales or hiring more security. These types of measures for example would cut the bottom line in a struggling NFL market, revenue.

So far the best Narc number of the 29 out of 32 stadiums offering the texting service belongs to the Cincinnati Bengals stadium who are informed to text 513-381-JERK.

It will be interesting to watch and see security runs around like a chicken with their head cutoff relying on fan feedback on where they should determine offensive behavior. After all the die hard fans are not as important as offending the once a year visitor. And what will determine offensive behavior? Better watch your P’s and Q’s as you would not want to offend your pretentious neighbor.
