The Nintendo Wii is not new to creating interactive peripherals to up the realism of playing a slew of next generation games. Yet a new remote may just take things to the next level when playing along in a future NCAA or NFL video game the way flailing your arms just has not quite captured. Looking to up the ante well above the standard golf club, tennis racket, and steering wheel remotes the newest patent looks to do more then just replicate a real football.

It is uncertain whether or not the patent will ever become a functional product but the concept is there. The football controller will be designed to assist in a “real-world” football experience and apparently with the patent application recently filed by vice president of R&D at Nintendo of America, Howard Cheng, the next line of games could be the trial run.
