A Jersey Story

The best gift I ever received was a Michael Jordan personalized NBA jersey. I have always loved basketball. But, as an awkward, gangly kid of 10, I wasn’t pinning my hopes on making a career out of it. It was on my 11th birthday that my Dad took me to a Bulls game in our hometown of Chicago.

Michael Jordan

Michael Jordan blew my mind! I couldn’t believe how high he could jump. Later that day my parents gave me a gift. It was a Bulls jersey with Michael Jordan’s name and number on it. Though, I didn’t end up playing professional basketball, that jersey will always remind me of that day with my Dad, and Jordan’s seamless performance.

women’s NFL jersey

Sports jerseys have historically been items of clothing reserved for men’s wear. But women can also take advantage of wearing jerseys depicting the names of her favorite sports team or player.

Teenagers and little girls alike may choose to express their enthusiasm for the pig skin by donning a women’s NFL jersey. And, whether she’s a Los Angeles Raiders fan, or a hardcore Green bay Packers worshiper, a sports jersey makes a great birthday or Christmas gift.

Want to save money on a Stadium?

With the economy slowly dwindelling there is sure to be money spent by the powers that be and it would not stop the largest state in the US from spending a good chunk of tax dollars on a new stadium for their beloved Yankees. The head of the Government Reform Committee has stated that city officials weren’t quite truthful in the value of the property in order to get a special tax break to lighten the cost to the city and lay the remaining balance onto taxpayers.

Ed Hochuli

Undoubtedly the call by official Ed Hochuli had a deciding impact on the outcome of the Chargers – Broncos game. Even though it was decidedly determined a fumble an incomplete pass blown dead by referee whistle cannot be overruled. Even highly respected referees can be looked at with some criticism at the advent of a botched call and with the league’s competition committee, controversial calls can be looked at and reviewed at the end of the season. And much like the call by Hochuli that caused the San Diego Chargers loss, referees have much at stake during questionable calls including their participation in Post season games or even whether or not they are retained next season.

Although I had not noticed any announcement that the NFL may be looking into this process as an inadvertent whistle can and has impacted games both past and present. And even though this recent happening was something that Hochuli admitted he knew was a mistake was something that could not be corrected because of the official NFL rule.

One thing that I feel is an apparent consideration in any modification or added reviewable call, play or otherwise is the fact that these types of halts to the game affect so much more. The tempo of football has slowed in recent years and other key aspects such as the rhythm of the game. This is not reality TV with all of the over dramatization and long pauses to build suspense. The suspense is in the game.

Brady Injury Brings on a Lot of Talk

Tom Brady Injury

With Tom Brady reportedly out of the season due to a knee injury it seems that the 1994 Buffalo Bills will remain the only team to lose a super bowl and make it back the following season. Somehow New England Patriots own Bill Belichick is staying positive despite this recent event merely stating that, ‘there’s going to be somebody else playing that position now’.

After winning a league-record 18 games last season it is safe to say that everything can change with one hit as Bernard Pollard delivered the blow that put Brady out of commission during the first quarter of the season opener against Kansas City. Later announced that Brady’s return was questionable and opened the door for Matt Cassel who led the Patriots to a 17-10 victory over the Chiefs.

And with this injury storming through viral media, it has stemmed conspiracy theories aplenty. One source even begs the question of whether Brady’s injury will do to Football what Tiger’s did to golf. But the injury to footballs own poster boy opens up analysts eyes to the projected leader of a Tom Brady free AFC East. Can football still be looked at with excitement? More so, how can golf be compared to football? Every season has its surprises, heartbreaks and all but so much can transpire and each game between opposing teams matters more then watching a single player in which the competition of the game revolves around.
