Want to save money on a Stadium?
With the economy slowly dwindelling there is sure to be money spent by the powers that be and it would not stop the largest state in the US from spending a good chunk of tax dollars on a new stadium for their beloved Yankees. The head of the Government Reform Committee has stated that city officials weren’t quite truthful in the value of the property in order to get a special tax break to lighten the cost to the city and lay the remaining balance onto taxpayers.

With neither the panel nor the Yankees or city of New York government budging on their positions, and despite the repercussions of this misrepresentation city Mayor, Michael Bloomberg, is standing behind the project stating that “We want these kinds of facilities here. Having new stadiums is as important as other things in terms of, not just the spirit for the people who live here, but our economy.” With that said, the improper land value comparisons to lower the assessed value, $366 million in sought after, non-structural funding as well as the purchase of a luxury box and extra tickets for an undisclosed purpose were all done in the spirit of New Yorkers but I will let that be otherwise decided.
With so many checks and balances and supposed processes to go through it is certainly interesting that the city of New York can merely provide this type of information. Rules have been said to be broken and unfortunately broken each day so with probable weight being placed on the architects of the New York Yankees stadium from higher parties involved, the mention of possible fraud charges most likely wont be pointed towards the actual guilty parties.
