Rowdy Browns FansThe Cleveland Browns laid down a code of conduct with regards to fan behavior as a part of a league-wide crackdown. Fans complain about foul language, fan on fan harassment – oh boy, and other inappropriate incidents associated with being rowdy.

“if you want the X-rated stuff, go somewhere else.” said the NFL’s vice president of security, Milt Ahlerich.

At the Browns Stadium in particular the number ejections and arrests have tripled compared to just a year ago stemming from the decision of staff not having to warn misbehaving fans. Later letters are sent heading a notice that ticket-holders are responsible for whom ever sits in their seat and their season tickets could be revoked.

According to the Cleveland Browns 384 fans have been ejected and 113 have been arrested throughout the first 7 seasons but sine the Browns return in 1999 the numbers have jumped to 2,365 and 676 respectively.

“There are people who come here just to get out of control. They’re looking for a big party, those are the people that we’re focusing on,” said Browns senior vice president, Lew Merletti.

Between 100 off-duty officers and 75 security staff workers nicknamed the “Dawg Squad” they do what they can to ensure a handle on 70,000 people with cameras, staff and pagers.
