Seattle Seahawks sign HoushmandzadehT.J. Houshmandzadeh made a final decision to sign with the Seattle Seahawks and heads west after a tough decision. “I just felt it was the best destination, it was the best team, it was the best choice for me”.

Reportedly the deal is worth more than $40 million for 5 years, $15 million of which is guaranteed. A number of factors obviously went into his decision between the three teams gunning for his talent. Quarterback Carson Palmer from his then current team the Cincinnati Bengals, the Minnesota Vikings and the team in which he finally decided on Seattle. One can only imagine that the opportunity for him on any one of those teams was a predominent aspect of his decision including the teams’ chances of winning.

Now a prize catch by the eager talons of the Seattle Seahawks they seem to be just one more step towards a solid lineup with receiver Houshmandzadeh and still holding a number four draft pick that hopeful fans are already beginning to chatter about.

Yep…he certainly says the right things. Now it’s all about going out and doing what he says he’s going to do. I have some of my doubts, only because I think the OL will struggle this year, especially if they have an injury or two…but I still think he was a great signing for the Seahawks.

  2. Hawksfan:

Sounds like he’s going to be a bit faster this year from the way he’s working out. He says he likes going inside because you get the ball more, but previously, he’s also claimed that he has enough speed to play outside.

  3. Eberle:

“Seattle gives you no excuses” Houshmandzadeh told KIRO 710 AM’s Mike Salk and Brock Huard on Tuesday. “They don’t give you reasons to complain about this, they’re not giving you reasons to complain about that.

“It’s not ‘I wish we had this or that’, none of that because what you need and what you want are there. The only excuse we can have is ‘the team beat us’ so the onus is on the players and the coaches to get this thing done because they give you every resource to get it done.”
