Future Hall of Fame Quarterbacks

There aren’t a lot of QBs in the NFL right now with the potential to be future Hall of Famers, and it’s quite possible that even some of the biggest names will never make it. Amongst active QBs, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady are the two that could wind up in the Hall of Fame, as these two have proven track records and have lead their teams to the Super Bowl and the playoffs season after season. However, one interesting prospect on which the book hasn’t been written is Matt Ryan of the Atlanta Falcons. In his rookie season, Ryan surpassed many of the best QBs in the NFL, and led his team to the playoffs. Even some of the greatest QBs of all time, like Joe Montana and John Elway, whose names are immortalized on authentic NFL jerseys in the Hall of Fame, didn’t have better rookie seasons than Ryan. While Ryan did have a lot of help, he also commanded respect from defenses, and made solid players like Roddy White even better.

In 2009, Matt Ryan looks to be even better, provided he doesn’t experience the dreaded sophomore slump. In the off-season, the Falcons added the legendary Tony Gonzalez, which gives the team one of the deadliest three point offensive combinations in NFL history, with Michael Turner at RB, Tony Gonzalez at TE, and Roddy White at WR. Last season, all three of these players posted more than 1,000 positive offensive yards. If Ryan can improve at all upon his rookie performance, he might prove himself as having the potential to be a Hall of Fame QB. Expect great things from Matt Ryan in the future.
