Rush Limbaugh’s NFL Team Contendership
With so much change and continued negotiations occurring, the current state of the NFL may just be open even to radio host Rush Limbaugh. Previous majority owner, Georgia Frontiere, died earlier this year opening up the possibility for an interested party.
“The Rams would be a great team to have. I have a lot of friends in ownership of the NFL, and my desire to get involved has not been a secret.”
Whether it is desperation in trying times for the NFL or a venture for the aspiring host it would add an interesting aspect to his radio show should there be interest in talking about last nights Rams loss. But would the ‘conservative’ radio commentator’s local ties become a conflict in his final decision?
“I have a lot of friends in ownership in the NFL, and my desire to get involved has not been a secret,” straight and to the point, “This is a business decision,” Limbaugh said.
Rush Limbaugh has deep pockets including an new eight-year Premiere Radio Networks syndication deal estimated to be worth $300 million but buying into an NFL team would be a stretch.
“I have no debt whatsoever. This would require changing that,” he said. “There is a whole lot of interest in the Rams with the NFL being a business entity that a lot of people want to be involved in. But it’s becoming a billionaires’ club.”
Another point of note may just be Rush Limbaugh’s colorful mouth, having made racially charged comments in the past, which will would be a forefront topic if this rumor becomes an actuality.
Look, let me put it to you this way: the NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons. There, I said it.
