Michael Vick’s Future Hopes
Michael Vick’s bankruptcy attorney, Michael Blumenthal, has stated that Vick could be moved to a halfway house in Virgina as soon as late January. Visk is now serving 23 months for his part in a dogfighting ring. Last month Vick had pleaded guilty to allow the possibility for early prison relief and possible transition into a halfway house – which does not exactly seem like a search for the truth or justice for those that are in fact guilty though does it?
In all these pleaded charges seem rather light. Unless details are being disclosed in light of his limited involvement, direct release into a half-way house at this point seems unjustified.
However at this point Vick still may have complications due to the direct involvment his bankruptcy case may have. had been working to finalize his bankruptcy case but after filing the disclosure statement he was ordered to provide a new statement due to the lack of he detail provided. As Vick had stated creditors are looking for a statement that they feel backs up his belief that he will resume his NFL career as a part of his proposed reorganization plan.
Judge Santoro scheduled a new hearing to cover the specifics of the disclosure agreement for January 30th. It may also be decided that Vick must then appoint a trustee to take control of his assets. His current claiming in assets includes $16 million with 20.4 million in liabilties. What caught creditors’ eyes were the millions of dollars in cash withdrawals and transfers which have led to Joel Enterprises Inc., filing its own objective to the provided disclosure statement provided.
