LaDainian Tomlinson to Lead Chargers into 2009
Despite being an aged running back by league standards, LaDainian Tomlinson is still one of the best in the NFL. Now at the age of 30, Tomlinson will once again be leading the Chargers in 2009, who won the AFC West in 2008 with a record of 8-8. While the Chargers have seen some success in recent years, the team has yet to make it to the Super Bowl. Tomlinson has been with the Chargers since his career started in 2001, and is still a force to be reckoned with on the field. While younger RBs like Adrian Peterson will no doubt have numbers that exceed LT, the old Charger will still push the team forward like few running backs can. Tomlinson placed fourth in the AFC in rushing yards in 2008, and also had a career low of 1,110 yards. But few RBs ever see that much yardage in a single year, even some of the best.
It’s impossible to not find LaDainian Tomlinson amongst an assortment of Chargers jerseys, and in many ways, LT is the heart of the Charger’s franchise. Though his numbers were competitive in 2008, fans wonder if he’ll still be able to find success in 2009. But LT seems confident that he has a few solid years left.
