Former Red Sox, Rangers and Mariners player John Marzano died this weekend after suffering a heart attack causing him to fall down a flight of stairs. A native of Philadelphia, MLB catcher and Journalist will be missed by many.

Known for his energy and comedic touch by coleagues and will certainly be missed by all including those whom he continued his sports career with as a television, radio and internet journalist for MLB Advanced Media.

Drafted in the third round of the 1981 MLB draft by the twins and after being the 14th overall pick in the 1984 draft Marzano finally began his big league career three years later for Boston. Eventually earning a spot on Lou Piniella’s Mariners roster. His passion, knowledge and friendships will be deeply missed.
