Probably the most celebrated type of party around the world is one revolving around a favorite sporting event. Since it Superbowl Party season I thought it would be nice to give you a few pointers although these can be used for any sports party.

If you are watching the game on your television make sure you have arranged your furniture so that all your guests can comfortably see what’s happening.

Decorations can add a festive feel to the room. Use your favorite teams colors or do each side of the room in a different team’s colors. Remember things are bound to get exciting, AKA messy, so plan on using a tablecloths to protect your furniture or move it out of the way. Great ideas for decorations are: pendants, balloons, crepe paper, centerpieces of game balls and pom-poms, and jerseys.

Snacks are a must! Nachos are a favorite but any chips and dip will do. If you are trying to stick to that New Year’s resolution a veggie try is nice but remember that not everyone will feel the same. For longer parties plan on taking up a pizza fund or using quick microwave stuff so you don’t miss out on the winning touchdown while you are in the kitchen.

Most of all, remember to have fun and stand up and cheer!
