Official. Authentic. Majestic.
Today, Majestic Athletic is the uniform of Major League Baseball. You can see our logo on the left sleeve of every player on every team in every city. But we didn’t start out here. It took three generations of our family, and over 50 years of hard work crafting MLB jerseys.
Our story begins in the 1950s, when Mary Capobianco endeavored to open her own sewing mill. After working in the booming garment industry of Bangor, Pennsylvania, she realized she could work just as hard for herself, and get much more in return.
She started with women’s clothing. Blouses mostly. The company was called Maria Rose Fashions, and served well-dressed women from coast to coast. It was a far cry from athletic apparel, but it demanded the same attention to detail.
After learning the garment business first-hand, her son Faust Capobianco, III, followed in her footsteps. In 1976, he founded the Majestic Athletic you know today. Well, almost. The spirit was there, but we hadn’t made it to the big leagues. Yet.
That happened in ’82, when we introduced our first Major League Baseball batting practice jersey. And the relationship grew in ’84, when we signed our first MLB National Licensing Agreement, which let us bring fans the high quality MLB apparel they needed to truly show their team’s colors.
Since the beginning, our philosophy has been simple. We create the highest-quality athletic wear with a commitment to heritage, craftsmanship, and authenticity. And we do it in the quick turnaround time our customers need.
And even though we hit the big leagues, we still take time to add the hand-stitched details that got us where we are. But now we do it for every Major League Baseball club, the National Basketball Association, National Pro Fastpitch Softball, most major colleges and universities, and, of course, you.

I notice that the New York Yankees wear uniforms without the Majestic logo on the left sleeve, unlike the uniforms of the rest of Major League Baseball. Why is that?

All jerseys including the players Yankees jerseys, do in fact have the Majestic logo on the right sleeve.
